The English appointment was the one which marked the return to racing of the Italian Team, the main protagonist of the Formula 3000 Intercontinental Championship in nineties.
Its drivers Fioravanti and Cipriani raced on the track with red-black-gold colours of the Italian team: the first one gained a position in the top 10, while Cipriani had to do a long pit-stop because of a problem to the gearshift.
During race n.1, Cipriani began with a great start by entering immediately in the top 10 and he maintained the tenth position until the end of the race. Damiano Fioravanti was the protagonist of a great recovery after a start that wasn’t so fast. The appointment of Silverstone was very important and represented a good debut for the team led by Modesto Benegiamo and Ferdinando Ravotto, as confirmed by Benegiamo who commented the first weekend of the racing: “After the two sessions of last winter, we can’t wait to see our level in the new season, above all in an hard championship like the one of the World Series. I have to say that we are satisfied, both for the results, and the points gained by our drivers, but also for the great performance of Domenico Fioravanti, who was so fast and good to reach the first position among the rookies. It’s a good beginning for us, but we want to do better in the coming appointment of Spa before the home race of Monza where we have big expectations.”
